Our holiday schools offer exciting opportunities for students to immerse themselves in musical theatre, build their skills and experience the energy of working towards a performance in a short space of time.

Show in a Week (our summer school)

Our Show in a Week summer school is one of Drama Spectrum’s most popular and long-standing programmes, running for over 29 years.

In just six days over the summer holidays, students rehearse a full-scale musical, working intensively on singing, acting and dance before performing multiple shows over the weekend to a paying audience. Productions over the last few years have included Beauty and the Beast, Shrek and The Addams Family.

With opportunities for solos as well as ensemble work, every student plays a part in bringing the production to life. The programme builds confidence, teamwork and performance skills at pace, culminating in a fully staged and costumed show that’s rehearsed and performed in just one week.

Spring School (Musical Theatre Intensive)

Our Spring School offers focused musical theatre training during the Easter holidays for both primary and secondary pupils.

Working on material from a wide range of musicals, students explore character, performance and technique while developing their confidence and creativity. Sessions are tailored by age group, with younger students most recently working on scenes from Oliver, Matilda and Mary Poppins, while older students explored popular musical theatre trends such as 13 Going on 30, Hamilton, Six and Dear Evan Hansen.

The week culminates in a filmed musical theatre showcase, giving students the chance to perform and celebrate everything they’ve created together.
